The location offers a combination of natural beauty and exciting surfing conditions that make it a unique spot worldwide. The waves breaking at Anchor Point are world-renowned. These right-hand point break waves are not for the faint-hearted. They can run for over 500 meters and offer rides of dizzying lengths, putting your long ride skills to the test. When the swell comes from the northwest, one can experience magnificent wave formations that ride the coast for what seems like an eternity. This spot becomes exceptionally ideal during the winter months, from November to February. This period brings swells of between 6ft to 15ft, fueled by the North Atlantic storms. The water temperature ranges between 16°C to 20°C, which calls for a 3/2mm to 4/3mm wetsuit. The weather remains relatively mild, ensuring a comfortable surfing experience.
